How to Join / Register in Al Hayat Medical Centers

         
How to join Al Hayat Medical Centers/ Meuhedet:  Registration is carried out at any post office branch by bringing the identity card and asking the employee at the post office for a transfer notification form to transfer from on Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) / Health Fund to the desired one. The filled form can be handed in the center where one wishes to move and in certain cases registration can be completed in the National Insurance Institute or through the Internet.

How Does the Transfer from one Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) to Another Take Place:

Every citizen is entitled to transfer from one Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) to another provided that they have been registered for at least for one year with the Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) that they are with. The Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) should welcome any citizen who would like to register and is not entitled to reject for any reason particularly due to age or health status.
* Employers may not require their employees to be members of a particular Health Maintenance Organization (HMO)

* Transition from one Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) to another is carried out by means of a transfer notification form after signing the form which can be obtained in the branches of the post office.
* The application to transfer from one Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) to another involves payment of a NIS16 fees and the amount can adjusted from time to time.

Dates on which Transfers come into Effect:

According to the law issued in 01/01/2005, dates sets out to transfer from one Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) to another are:

- For people registering for transfer between September 16 - November 15, registration will come into effect on January 1.

- For people registering for transfer between November 16 - January 15, registration will come into effect on March 1.

- For people registering for transfer between January 16 - March 15, registration will come into effect on May 1.

- For people registering for transfer between March 16 - May 15, registration will come into effect on July 1.

- For people registering for transfer between May 16 - July 15, registration will come into effect on September 1.

- For people registering for transfer between July 16 - September 15, registration will come into effect on November 1.

Any person who transfers from one Health Maintenance Organization (HMO)to another may move again if they wish, but are accepted as a member of another Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) only after a full year has elapsed from the current date of moving. (The law enactment aims to reduce the period to 6 months).
